Miracles

by Michael Corthell

For many people the definition of a miracle is: an extremely outstanding or unusual event, thing, or accomplishment or something that is seemingly impossible. But the positive thinking types like myself will say that the definition is incorrect because 'miracles' are all around us, all the time, every single day.

True miracles are manifested by faith. Faith is the partnership between God and man. Faith isn't a stopping point in just knowing that God can heal for example, rather it is absolutely BELIEVING that He WILL.

Besides not having strong enough faith, another problem most people have with miracles is that they are not 'aware' or even ready for them. By that I mean, they are not open to the possibility that miracles are in fact common and they are deserving of them in their lives. (feeling that you are undeserving of good things is a symptom of a negative mindset.)

My definition is that a miracle is an event that goes far beyond all known human or natural powers and is manifested by a deep spiritual need. We can understand that miracles are common if we understand that everything we do in the material world is spiritually based.

Hermeticism

''As above, so below, as within, so without, as the universe, so the soul" ''That which is below corresponds to that which is Above, and that which is Above corresponds to that which is below, to accomplish the miracle of the 'One Thing'.'' In the heavens above, the planet’s energies are that which is so below(Earth). We humans who live on the so below are made of these same heavenly energies of that, which is as above. Hence, the microcosm is oneself, and the macrocosm is the universe.''

How do you then recognize miracles and even manifest them yourself?

First, you need to shift from a base, negative way of thinking, to a foundational, positive mind set. Change your thinking from, ''It won't happen,'' or ''I wish it would happen.'' to ''It WILL happen.'' We have to believe, that is, to have that deep and secure FAITH that they will happen.

Secondly, it is a very good idea to clarify and define the difference between a miracle and a blessing. An instant miracle is indeed a supernatural intervention of God in a situation of immediate need. A blessing is also manifested by the power of God, but it flows through more natural and therefore more accepted channels.

A blessing could then be described as a common, everyday miracle. I personally don't categorize it that way by separation, because I feel, again personally, that the wholeness or oneness is miraculous in itself. One Whole, One Universe, One Miracle—on going.

Finally, with a fully positive mind-set it is easy for all of us to recognize that every-day blessings are the continual miracles we are in fact seeking. If you live your life praying for intervention, living from one miracle to the next, you will live from one crisis to the next. It is better to be blessed with good health than to always need divine healing. True? God’s will for His miracles(us) is to walk in His blessing. (see the video below)

To live an abundant life, we all must understand this is a blessing and a miracle: the more we share, the more we have. We start doing this by loving God, ourselves and our neighbor.
