The Miracle of Life and The Artistry of the Universe

by Michael Corthell

Today's article is fairly brief. When you get to the end make sure you watch the video presentation, because you will see the miracle I'm discussing.

'Let there be light, and there was light, love and life.'

When writing about God (the creator/the first cause/the prime mover) I often say that God is love or love is the essence of what He is, and that 'love is all there is'. I say this because the true effect and purpose of all creation is love, life and the love for it.
''A Brief Awakening''

''In the vastness of the out-rushing cosmos,
you are but tiny—a warm and pulsing spark.
Against all odds, your birth a brief awakening
from silent eons spent sleeping in the dark.
When you feel your heart swell with wild wonder
at the dazzling diamond chandeliers of night,
know your body was built from ancient stardust
and the universe now sees through your eyes.
So let the breath of sweet gratitude fill you,
as the light of each new day begins.
For this moment itself is a miracle,
and to live it is your privilege my friend.''

― John Mark Green, Taste the Wild Wonder: Poems
Many people refer to God as the 'first cause'. For every 'cause' there is indeed, not only one effect, but many. What you see and experience all around you—throughout all the Universe are those 'effects'.

For most people are only two ways to live life. Living it as though nothing is a miracle, or living and experiencing everything as a miracle.

What is my point? The point is that life, in and of itself is the one true miracle. You have no need to look further. All miracles, when you really think about them are wrapped up in that one package: Life.

One a personal level, we should remind ourselves every single day that our lives are connected to God, our fellow creatures and all that there is. Much of what we are and have achieved is based on the labors of other human beings, alive and dead, and we must do our part in order to give back in the same measure as we have have received. This is compensation. This is balance.

Love and life go together. Life was created out of the expression of love—both spiritually and physically and love is the nature of God, the First Cause.

''If you look deeply into the palm of your hand, you will see your parents and all generations of your ancestors. All of them are alive in this moment. Each is present in your body. You are the continuation of each of these people.'' —Thich Nhat Hanh

I am a realist. I expect miracles ALL the time!

When you live your life knowing that everything is a miracle, every moment then becomes something to savor and be in awe of. You are naturally instilled with appreciation and gratitude knowing that you are indeed blessed.

Hidden miracles of the natural world
by Louie Schwartzberg

We live in a world of 'unseen' beauty, so subtle and delicate that it is imperceptible to the human eye. To bring this invisible world to light, filmmaker Louie Schwartzberg bends the boundaries of time and space with high-speed cameras, time lapses and microscopes. He shares highlights from his latest project, a 3D film titled "Mysteries of the Unseen World," which slows down, speeds up, and magnifies the astonishing wonders of nature. Don't pass by this video without watching.
