A team of scientists have revealed new research that seems to indicate intelligent life (aliens) beyond our solar system exist and are trying to communicate with others (and us) in the Universe.

In a paper titled "Discovery of peculiar periodic spectral modulations in a small fraction of solar type stars" it doesn't necessarily sound like a stunning discovery to most people, but the research paper published in the journal Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific may turn out to be the final step in the quest to establish the presence of intelligent life beyond our solar system.

''There 'may' be aliens in our Milky Way galaxy, and there are billions of other galaxies. The probability is 'almost' certain that there is life somewhere in space.''

Basic, common sense dictates that there has to be intelligent life on other planets in the Universe besides Earth. There are, after all, billions of other galaxies containing billions of stars will planets revolving around them.

An analysis of 2.5 million stars that researchers have been watching has revealed 234 stars giving off "strange modulations" that suggest their origins are likely caused by an alien species, rather than natural causes.

"We find that the detected signals have exactly the shape of an [extraterrestrial intelligence] signal predicted in the previous publication and are therefore in agreement with this hypothesis," two researchers wrote in the new paper, according to The Independent.

This is a story that will not go away. The resolution to the question, ''Are we alone?'' will be firmly and finally answered by the end of 2017.

And it's most important effect? It will absolutely confirm the existence of God.

UPDATE (12/24/2017): My article above doesn't speak directly to past or current alien visitation to Earth, but if proved would indicate intelligent life elsewhere. The proof has arrived in the form of a United States Department of Defense video that was released as part of a news story this past week. There is much more detail to this story that is classified by the Pentagon (and other nation's agencies) more to come, including some mighty spiffy new technology now that the 'cat is out of the bag' and now in plain sight.
