The Six(6) Ghosts of FEAR: How Many "Ghosts of Fear" Are Standing in Your Way?

What stands in your way on your path to success and achievement? If you answered, ''Fear,'' then you are correct. Admitting the fear is the first step in getting rid of that fear. Here are the six main fears that plague the mind, spirt and soul—that disrupt the very essence of mankind—the "Ghosts of Fear":

Fear of POVERTY


Fear of CRITICISM
Fear of ILL HEALTH
Fear of LOSS OF LOVE OF SOMEONE (or not finding love)
Fear of OLD AGE
And the fear of DEATH

All other fears or phobias hang from these six basic fears that haunt mankind.

Everyone and I mean EVERYONE has these fears to a certain degree. We wouldn’t be human if we didn’t have them. Fear is a defense mechanism much like physical pain. But these fears become invasive and a real problem when they consume us by taking over our thoughts, by driving our behavior, and eventually hindering our quality of life.

FACING the fear of poverty – firmly BELIEVE that you will accumulate wealth responsibly and that you will happily get along with the wealth you are able to accumulate. Stop focusing on what can go wrong and start to focusing on what can go right.

FACING the fear of criticism –  do not worry about what other people think of you. Most people are so busy thinking about themselves that they don’t even notice others most of the time.

FACING the fear of ill-health – do not focus on diseases and their associated symptoms. Do not fill your mind with pictures of real or imagined diseases. Decide to focus on living in health(and live healthy!), instead of thinking about sickness.

FACING the fear of the loss of someone’s love – do enjoy and value the love you receive and love in return with as much love as you can. And know that you can happily get along without love, if the situation arises.

FACING the fear of old age – do accept old age as a blessing not a curse. And also do remember that many people do not have the privilege of reaching old age. Decide to be grateful for the wisdom and experience that comes with age.

FACING the fear of death –  acceptance is the key. Dealing with this fear is a very personal religious matter. Do evaluate your beliefs, but also decide to accept and make peace with death as an inescapable event.

Which of these Six(6) Basic Fears do you fear the most? Feel it. Embrace it and work on it.
