Love Heals

True love is spiritual and sees with the mind's eye...

Written by Michael Corthell

Love does indeed heal. But what is love? Generally speaking the definition of love is: an unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another. Is that all? No, there is the highest form of love. Interestingly, that kind of love is also called charity; the love of God for man and of man for God. It embraces a universal, unconditional love that transcends, and serves regardless of circumstances or consequences.

When we become fully self-actualized, we will come to the full understand that love, plus time heals all wounds, but more importantly, that love is all there is.

In the Bible, love is further described like this:

''Love is patient and kind.
Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud.
Love is not rude, it is not selfish, and it cannot be made angry easily. Love does not remember wrongs done against it.
Love is never happy when others do wrong, but it is always happy with the truth. Love never gives up on people. It never stops trusting, never loses hope, and never quits.
Love will never end.''

So then, why does love heal? After all it is just some intangible feeling. Or is it? Is it a vibration? Can it influence the material world that we all inhabit? Let's see.

We can infer that love does indeed heal because we can see that the lack of it is the root cause of many diseases. Insufficient love makes people sick — directly and indirectly.

Broken heart syndrome is a very real cause of death for example. Other illnesses include, depression, substance abuse and anger issues. So, then if insufficient love can do this, an infusion of love into a persons life will cause healing to take place.

''When we become fully self-actualized, we will come to the full understand that, love plus time heals all wounds, but more importantly that love is all there is."

Again, love is a mindset, a state of mind where you can experience love for yourself and others, regardless of outside circumstances.

It can also be shown scientifically that falling in love, that deep intense start of a romantic relationship, not only feels good but can actually cure what ails you. Love helps release happy hormones including endorphins into your body. This surge of hormones can help beat depression, for example.

But this writers opinion as to why love really heals lies in the spiritual realm — the relationship we all have with God. Yes, we ALL have a relationship with our Creator whether or not we care to admit it or acknowledge Him as God.

True love — that which is called unconditional love or agape love, is an attribute of the Divine, of God, which is inside each of us. It cannot be faked, manipulated or segregated.

When we open up ourselves and let down our walls, we can welcome, deep inside us true spiritual love. When we give it, we become a gift to others and ourselves, because in all things it is indeed better to give than receive.

Eventually we will all come to the understanding that love does heal everything and that LOVE IS ALL THERE IS...
