Qualitative Research Consulting Service at the 91ɫƵ
The Qualitative Research Consulting Service is part of the Center for Healthy Communities and Research (CHCR) within the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the 91ɫƵ (91ɫƵ) and provides comprehensive consulting in qualitative research methodologies to 91ɫƵ faculty, staff and trainees, nonprofits, other academic institutions, and external organizations. Consulting is provided by CHCR faculty and staff. Staff consultants are supervised by a member of the faculty. After a free 30-minute initial consultation, a time estimate and quote are provided. Consulting services are offered to employees of 91ɫƵ for a standard fee of $140 per hour; external clients are a fee of $218 per hour.
About Our Services
Our consulting services include assistance with qualitative research design, institutional review board (IRB), grant preparation, study team meetings, data collection, data analysis, manuscript consultation, and community-based dissemination. Our services are provided through hourly consultations and faculty FTE on funded projects.
Our center is made up of qualitative methods experts focusing on community-engaged research, with extensive grant preparation on projects funded by NIH, NEH, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Advancing Healthier Wisconsin, CTSI, HRSA, and VA.

Areas of interest/experience: Advocacy for vulnerable patients and populations including the role of safety net providers in ensuring access to health care, the organization of work among health professionals in traditional and community-based clinical settings, and the relationship between the urban environments. Topics of interest include: acute and chronic life stressors, and health status, addressing women’s exposure to violence and harm reduction, the public and community health workforce, residential segregation and breast cancer survival among African American and Hispanic women, and weight loss and breast cancer survival among Hispanic women.
